Jill”s Oregon trip

Last weekend I went to Oregon to visit my good friends Mike and Ivy. They moved there last summer and bought a gorgeous 25 acre ranch in Hood River. It was wonderful spending time with them. I had a lot of fun whitewater rafting down the White Salmon River in Washington. I also picked blackberries and made jam. We did a little wine tasting also, but mostly just enjoyed hanging out on their gorgeous ranch. It was a beautiful trip spent with good friends and I can’t wait to visit them again!

Summer Fun

Here are some pics from some of our summer activities. The first few pictures come from when I took the girls to Rainforest Cafe (which Abby totally loved) and to the Disney store to buy Abby a new princess dress. This was her reward for wearing bandaids on her thumbs for naps and bedtime for the last 4 months to stop her from sucking her thumb. Well, she has finally broken the habit, so we celebrated and got her a reward.
The rest of the pictures are from our visit to the Santa Ana Zoo (we have annual passes there), summer swimming lessons, and our family bonfire at the beach. We are having lots of fun this summer and are finally enjoying some warm weather

Abby’s ballet recital

Abby had her big ballet performance last night. She has been practicing all spring at the Huntington Beach Academy of Dance. Her dance was called Arabian Princesses. She looked super cute in her costume, and it was so special to have both sets of grandparents, Aunt Stacy, and Aunt Kathy there to watch. Sorry we don’t have any pictures during her actual dance, we were videotaping instead.

Pool

Today was a gorgeous day, so Brent set up the pool. We have such a fun pool for little kids. It is a small pool and a large pool connected by a slide. The girls love it! Here are a few pictures of our fun afternoon.

Strawberry Farm

This morning the girls and I went down to Tanaka Farms in Irvine. We met our friends Amber with her twins Logan and Charlotte and went on a strawberry tour. We rode in a wagon pulled by a tractor and took a tour of a beautiful farm. We got to taste lots of delicious vegetables along the way. Then we got eat as many strawberries as we wanted while we each got to pick a pint. Whitney really took advantage of the “eat as much as you want” as she probably ate 30 strawberries before we had to head back to the wagon. Abby had fun filling up her own basket. The strawberries were incredibly delicious. We had a great time!

Vacations

We have gone on vacation the last two weekends and had so much fun. The first trip was with our good friends Justin and Melanie and we went for two nights to Las Vegas. We left the girls with my dad and Deb. We stayed at the Mandalay Bay hotel. We walked around on the Strip, ate lots of good food, did a little gambling, and had a blast at the pools at our hotel. I brought my camera everywhere, but never took any pictures except in front of the new beautiful Aria hotel.
Our second trip was up to Santa Barbara/Solvang/Lompoc. We went for 5 days. The first part of the trip was spent in Santa Barbara cheering for Stacy in her tournament. When her tournament was over, my dad, Deb, Stacy, and Zack joined us in Lompoc for a few days. We ate way too much, played in the pool, went wine tasting, and had fun visiting Solvang. On our way home we stopped at the Santa Barbara Zoo. It is a gorgeous little zoo, right on the beach with lots of animals. Abby’s favorite part is the “ant hill” where all the kids bring cardboard boxes to slide down on. It was a great trip. And again, I forgot to take pictures of most of it, but I got a few pics in Solvang and at the zoo.

Stacy’s wedding

Stacy got married on Saturday, March 13th at Rancho Capistrano. It was a beautiful day. The ceremony was gorgeous and the reception was so much fun. I am so excited to have Zack as a brother-in-law and I hope that Stacy and Zack have a lifetime full of love and happiness!

Abby’s 4th Birthday

Abby turned 4 years old today. I can’t believe she is getting so big and so old. We had a really fun party for her yesterday at the Sweet Spot Bakery in the Irvine Spectrum. Abby and 6 of her friends got to decorate their own chef hat and then decorate their own cupcakes. It was super fun and super cute. Thanks to all the friends and family that braved the rain to come and help Abby celebrate her birthday!
